No Where To Run To...

At first glance you would think that you are looking at a picture of a kid sleeping under a blanket but Oh how wrong you would be.  This is a photo I like to call "Shelter In Place"...

A few days ago we had workmen upstairs in the game room stirring up a ruckus.  Initially they were hammering and nailing and while that did create some noise it was a horse of a different smell from that of the circular saw that joined the party.  My little guy was having No.Part.Of.It.  I offered to huddle him in my lap but that was a no-go.  He leaped under that blanket at the first audible inkling.  I've never been around an explosion but I am pretty sure that's how you're supposed to head for cover in the event of a sudden boom.  Fortunately for me the circular saw drowned out my chuckling and laughter while he was "undercover".  So once the dust settled, literally, I was able to maintain my position as caring and loving female parental unit.
Oh, A mommy's life for me...

My Easy Lemon Pepper Wings (Fried Naked or Baked)

Well the football season is upon us and what would the season be with out the proper tailgating ( or sofa-gating) foods.  High atop that list of delectables are...Wings. (with a capital "W" no less)  Now for most of you the buffalo wing, hot wing, or spicy wing would be your go-to flavor of choice...Not in this house.  'Round these parts Lemon Pepper is King!  So read on and work your football food jelly to produce this zesty treat.

Easy Lemon Pepper Wings:
8 wings (cut in halves to yield 16 wing pieces)
Oil for Deep Frying
5 Tbs of Butter
1/2 Lemon
Garlic Powder (to taste)
Lemon Pepper (to taste)

*Deep fry wing pieces until golden brown
*Melt butter in a sauce pan or in the microwave while waiting for the wings to finish frying
*Remove wings from oil when done and set aside to drain if desired
*Pour melted butter into large mixing bowl
*Put drained wings in bowl with butter
*Sprinkle in Garlic Powder & Lemon Pepper then toss with butter
*Remove from butter mixture, set aside and serve

Tip: removing from the butter mixture after tossing keeps the wings from getting soggy.
Serve with carrot sticks & celery if desired or along side nachos.
You can also bake this recipe.  Just skip the butter and season the raw wings with the garlic powder and lemon pepper before putting in the oven.

Transparency...

I was thinking back to about 4 or 5 years ago. I remember that my focus was the same as it is now but my methods were very different. I wanted to have peace and abundance in my home but I thought it was gained through material things. But through listening to The Word and putting it to practice I am today living in the fullness of all that I had hoped for and more. I've increased my value in the eyes of my husband & my family. I now have the ability to give them my presence instead of my money and material things. I left a 6 figure income career, a more expensive home, and a lot of self righteousness to be put to service for the Master's Use. So when you read my posts about making lunch for my husband, helping my son with his projects and being a Stay-At-Home Wife & Mom this is whose post you are reading. My life has not been all Roses & Cherries. This 2011 Version of Me ALL came at a price. But I am Blood Bought & Bible Taught. So if I ever say anything to you about changing your ways or your life, it's not because I'm judging you it's because I see a little bit of me in you and I want you to know the peace and prosperity that I do. It's not because I want what you have but because I want to give you the gift that I have.
